Si es posible, solo necesita un ejedel mismo diámetro. Debe ir a un sitio de metal mecánica, donde corten en torno al largo del eje original y con una fresadora hace el ranurado. Luego calienta el metal del eje hasta que llegue a rojo encandecente y lo sumerge en aceite (puede ser usado de motor) con esto logra un proceso térmico llamado acero carbonado. Dando más resistencia al desgaste. No durará muchos años, pero es la posibilidad de solucionar el impase.
En el torno recomendar no usar buril HSS, este material por la dureza debe ser trabajado con insertos de tungsteno.
